When she earned her BA in Fine Arts at Brandeis University, Brenda’s focus was on sculpture. Brenda’s love of 3-D medium is evident in the texture of her work using homemade cut paper to create collage illustrations. She was inspired by children’s book artist Eric Carle when she created her own method of making paper using pastels with tissue paper applied with a glue wash. The end result is a wonderfully unique color and texture. No two homemade papers are exactly alike, thus leading to truly individualized artworks. Brenda’s mission is to create bold, joy filled, playful images for the child in all of us. She lives in Portland, Oregon with her dog, Rosie.
